Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Fidro and IPHub?
IPHub is a lightweight IP classifier: it returns a block score indicating whether an IP looks like a proxy, VPN, Tor node or datacenter address. Fidro takes the same class of network signal and combines it with email validity, disposable-domain detection and location matching to produce one risk score with an allow, review or block recommendation.
Is IPHub free?
IPHub has a free tier of 1,000 queries per day, which is far more generous than Fidro's 200 validations a month if all you need is IP classification. Residential proxy detection is reserved for its Professional plan. Paid tiers are available for higher volumes.
Does IPHub detect residential proxies?
Only on its Professional plan. The free and Basic tiers cover VPNs, Tor exit nodes, open proxies and datacenter ranges but not residential proxies. Fidro does not currently detect residential proxies either, so if that is your specific requirement, IPHub Professional is the more direct answer.
Should I use IPHub or Fidro?
Use IPHub if you want cheap, high-volume IP classification and will write the fraud logic yourself. Use Fidro if you want the signup decision made for you across email and network signals together, and want the same integration to cover payment risk later. IPHub is the better narrow tool; Fidro is the better complete answer.
Can I use IPHub and Fidro together?
Yes, though most teams would not need to. If you specifically need residential proxy detection from IPHub Professional alongside Fidro's email and decision layer, the two answer different questions and do not conflict.
